Exclusive: The White House has asked the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate whether electric vehicles would produce green fuel credits.

According to two sources familiar with the discussions, the White House has instructed the US Environmental Protection Agency to examine whether using green fuels to power electric vehicle charging could result in tradeable credits under the country’s biofuels scheme.
